After speaking with Jason Franks, Milwaukee Region Solo chair, the date has now been set for the 2nd Annual Tri-Pod Challenge!!

CenDiv Championship event at Miller Park in Milwaukee, August 1 and 2

For those unfamiliar with the ways of the Tri-Pod veteran, here’s a brief summary;

3 Cities are pitted against each other in a team battle for ultimate Solo supremacy. No “hey that was a nice run, too bad about the cone” stuff here…this is all out, cut throat, no holds barred competition, and only the best and fastest runs count here.

Teams:
Flatlanders (Chicago)
Cheeseheads (Milwaukee)
Heidi’s (Twin Cities)

Rules:
All drivers are eligible. Drivers in the top 20 positions on the RTP Index are awarded 1 point each. The top index driver is awarded a bonus point. The two days combined finishing position counts. Ties are decided by the highest finishing position, and a three way tie is broken by the top index driver. The team with the most points at the end of the two days is crowned Tri-Pod Champions, and are awarded a lovingly hand crafted and very classy traveling trophy. You must declare your allegiance to a team prior to the beginning of competition each day. International mystery and intrigue, defections, bribery, cajoling, and smack talk, are not only legal, but encouraged.

So join us in Milwaukuee on August 1st and 2nd and help push the Heidi’s over the top this year!

Here's the list stolen from Chris's thread...

Pat,

I wouldn't be surprised if Tim Aro makes it to this event.

Pat, isn't that attendance list for the June 20/21 event?

I'll be at Milwaukee for the divisionals on Aug 1/2, probably with my co-driver Mark M.

Yes, it's the attendance list for June 20/21, but we are hoping it will be a good indicator of CenDiv attendance...

I didn't remember signing up for anything in August...

Chris and I are doubtful, especially me. I'd have to trade it off for the MidDiv at LAP later in August. That event should be a phenomenal dress rehearsal for Nationals. Maybe if we skipped the local LAP event in July...hmmm...

Josh and I will be there.

Though I have to say I'd rather see the challenge be a part of a 2 day weekend like last year, with the more forgiving 6 run format. =]

I'll be there warming the tires for Steve.

Not sure what you mean...it is a two day event. There is no 3 run or 6 run format...it's simply the combined total of both days. (Being a Divisional, both days are combined just like Nationals)

Last year it was most in the top 20 in PAX... I think Matt's saying it would be nice to have 6 runs both days vs. 6 runs total...

Do we know for sure how many runs we will be getting per day? 3 is the minimum, but I've been to divisionals that allow for more.

My guess is they will run it like a tour, but good point...
