I don't see a website for the A-H club, so I'll post the link here. The full-res. shots are, of course, quite a bit better.

Hey, there's the "SHOC Auto" 10th Anniversary RX-7.... NICE. V8 though, but I'm sure it's quick.

That 750 (Jalro?) is really cool! Does the car show up at other places? I'd like to see it in person. :)

That's a Jabro-SAAB. Rich must be planning it for vintage racing, although I don't know if he has had it out for that yet. It seems as if he has just gotten it and is going through some teething problems.

One thing that concerns him is that it is ungodly loud and he is unsure if he can quiet down the two-stroke without losing power. It had some (possibly-electrical) problems dying on the hill. I was the first guy there to push it at the end of one run, when it stopped maybe 30 feet short of the finish line.

Like a lot of vintage racers, it has a "useable first" which means that gearing is not good for the tight turns in Toms figure-eight.

My first time in almost 3 1/2 years driving 'In Anger'
Well almost, 'cause I did drive Brian's S-10 at Rendezvou in '07 at the Grand Rapids MN HS parking lot.

This time with waaaay mo' power than my 'B'

I got sweaty palms again, and had to breathe deep. but did sleep OK the night before.
Man am I rusty!
Brian's car needs waaay more than 185 tires..............

And I got to the top of the hill without incident.
Some did not sadly.
Bruised and bent parts, badly damaged egos.....

That was my first AH club hillclimb. Lots of fun! I will be back next year. It's too bad about that wreck but at least everyone is ok.
Thank you guys for posting the photos. Thanks for the ride in the V6 MG Dwight!

I recommend mounting the cam a little higher next time. As you can see, it almost got taken out by a cone here or there, and any closer and you'd be out a camera.

That's a BMW Issetta. It is supposed to have two wheels on the back, but somebody has pasted in the rear half of a Honda motorcycle instead. It appears to be the answer to the question nobody should have asked. I didn't get a very good look at it.

And getting "motion blur" from it or the 2CV would have taken an exposure of a second or two...

That's 1/125. If I had felt like changing, I could have gone to 1/30 and got four times as much!

If you want to be fast, you are going have to start getting closer to the cones, and your camera will be at risk.

Some one else said it was a Messerschmidt.
It had three wheels, not the usual 2 narrowly placed in the rear. But then I could be wrong.....

I did however see it up on TWO WHEELS. In the autox section.
Driven by Rich Stadther, a well known local vintage racer.
I was told it scared him badly.

Reminds me of the WWII Russian ace who shot down 34 German planes during the war, and was being interviewed later about his combat exploits. With regard to one aerial dogfight, he said: "I shot down 2 Fokkers in three minutes." In another "I got four Fokkers." Another time, "We had three planes on patrol and shot down six Fokkers." After about fifteen minutes, the interviewer said: "How did you end up shooting down so many Fokkers? I know the Germans had other types of airplanes." The pilot responded, "Oh, yeah, some of them fokkers vas flying Messerschmidts."

I'm pretty sure this footage is from the fastest run of the day. Everyone else must have been REALLY far from the cones;)

Maybe it's a really wide lens, but those cones didn't look Randy-close.

The way I heard it, the speaker was a WWI German. He was talking about those "American Folkers". When reminded that the Folker was a German airplane, he said that these Amercans were flying SPADs.

So I somehow missed the crash or accident or whatever it was. How about someone tells the story. Pics would be a bonus.

Does anyone have the picture of the Isetta on two wheels? The scrape was sickening.

Tom, are you going to post the results?

Thanks to everyone who worked the event. Things went really smoothly.

I have video of the Isetta going on two wheels and I also have some video of that crash site with the car still off the road.

I'll work on getting more video up soon :)

Out of courtesy, you might want to ask the drivers involved if they'd mind before posting vids of them on the internet.

So I need to start by saying I DID NOT see this happen. From the marks in the grass I think I'm safe in saying he lost the rear at the last left bend at the top of the hill. I've got a nice little oversteer here on every run. Since he went off to the inside, this tells me the rear end stepped out, he either counter steered a little too late, lifted or braked, pendulumed the other way and went into the grass. It looked like the marks in the grass went for 20 or 30 feet and the car came to rest against a medium size tree (no visible tree damage). After looking at the damage to the car, all I can say is he was luck as hell. The car must have gone off with one end landing first and dissipating some of the energy. If he had gone off perfectly sideways, I'd bet anything he would have rolled. The drop off from road to grass was 2-3 feet. Hitting the grass evenly and digging in with both wheels almost always results in the car going over. Not sure what the total damage was, but I'm sure a British Morgan ain't cheap to fix. I will say its V8 had a great sounding exhaust note on the course.

EVO MR Hillclimb run! (Drivers view)

The interior HD footage turned out decent considering how hard Matt drives.

I've never seen a A-H 3000 hardtop before. Is that a one-off or did they actually build some?

Dan Wolters built this car. It has Healey body modified with other parts to make a 'GT'
He showed the pictures of building and fabricating it.
It is a self made frame with a Toyota Supra driveline.
Long way from done, but at least drivable......

Sounds like my car:lol:

Looks like a Triumph GT6 top welded on to a Healey.

For the flipside (pun not intended, but not bad) how about the TVR with the roof removed? In the rollover wreck John had at BIR, the fiberglass top took the worst of it. The cage is fine. He petitioned the vintage-race outfit to let him run it as a roadster and was apparently approved. Looks OK.
