We're all there to work on our driving in our own cars, but car slutting is inevitable...

Personally the top of my list i'd love to try:
S2000
Modded WRX or an STi/Evo, something with a little more grunt than my car, and AWD.
A decently Setup 3 series.

What are you looking for?

Anything I can buy for $8,000 or less. Particularly interested in an E36 3 Series/M3 if anyone is willing to let me go for a run. I unfortunately won't have a car of my own to return the favor with. I do have a MaxQ if you want to get some data.

Miata
Mini
3 series
STI
Imprezza RS (drove Stu's a few times and really liked it)
Evo (drove Andreas' and really liked it as well)
Older and Newer Si
Enzo (ok.. had to at least try....)

Not in that particular order.

But, I am happy to drive anything through the course.. I am a car *****

Just remember that not everyone is comfortable with other people driving their cars, and DCTC is not always "car friendly". I tend to be pretty free with my car but I'm typically uneasy with co-drivers at DCTC. Expecting to get to drive any car on the lot isn't very realistic.

Sorry. Don't want to rain on your parade. Please resume...

Id like to play around with a S2K. Sold mine last year and all it ever saw was the street. :(

Any kind of mini. Test drove one and had a BLAST almost bought one.

Any STU car. But would really like to drive/ride in a STI or WRX with STU setup. That is what im shooting for with my STi.

A STi with lighter rims then my stockers. I want to feel the difference they make.

Well, that's convenient! I know of a black one that you can probably sweet talk the owner into borrowing.... ;)

Good point. I dont think anyone expects to drive just anyones car of course. I typically try to limit it to people I have gotten to know and autox'd around for a while.. at least enough to know they know what they are doing and wont put my car through hell.

Also, it is kind of assumed (at least to me) that people are considerate enough not to go 100% in everyones cars. Pushing it a bit is fine, but understand you are driving someone elses car and most likely one that you are not familiar with. I tend to play it pretty safe and not go crazy on them.

I think this is something most people understand. There are some places/times/events/locations/people that owners aren't wiling to lend their cars out at/to/for. This is something that you need to respect. Begin put in charge of someone else's $xx,xxx car is no joke and should be treated as a privilege and nothing more.

Maybe if he is a really, REALLY; did I say really good friend and the lender promises to pay/repair for whatever negative outcomes that could happen.

This is a real sensitive subject IMHO and after 20+ years in the sport, have seen a couple of friendships soured by some mechanical/physical mishaps :(

Keep your friend; dont drive his car aggressively and NEVER, ever test drive his wife :)

Hey, just because we are putting up here that we WANT to drive a particular car, has no bearing on whether or not we will actually do so. I have no expectations that I will drive anyone's car, no matter what I put up in a thread.

I don't think that anyone thought we were 'reserving' a spot in some car by putting it up here.

Steve,

I'll be there Sunday, look me up if you are looking for another opinion.

More interested in riding along than driving. I understand this can get iffy too as people don't want to mess with weight or don't want to take unnecessary runs on the million dollar tires. I'll be standing by the start line with my helmute if I'm not out there thrashing around or working though.:rockon

You should plan to stop by my house. Phone me on the cell phone number in the PM. I may have them on the porch for you.

I'll be there with the couch, and slutting-runs will be much more workable than in the past, especially for people I know and people with something fun to trade. =]

I'm not going, but I hope to be able to drive a miata at an event sometime, if someone was willing. I'd let them drive my 7 :)

You may want to specify what kind of miata you want to drive as they are widely classed and very different in feel between class prep. Miatas run in cs sts csp typically. Ill pay attention to your run's at the next event i'm at. Drive well and you may get a csp co-drive sometime.

What was it?

Just had a couple small leaks. They put florescent dye in the coolant and didn't find a trace of it in the oil or exhaust.
