Hey guys,

Talked to asujosh1 and his car will be out of commission for this weekend.

Anyone (including Novices) have a car they'd be willing to share for MOWOG 1/2 with Josh King? Has to be bigger than a Miata / S2000, though.

It might be helpful to get a second opinion on your car setup and he might be able to supply / compare in car video to help you improve quicker. I might be able to throw my datalogger in the trunk as well... it'd tell you where you were off line and where you could push harder....

Post up if you're interested. :rockon

Thanks!

I'd offer the 944, but I'm still not 100% sure of its condition.

Hey Karl, we get together and wrench sometimes on weekends. If you needed a hand sorting out some of your engine issues, we might be able to offer some tools and a couple more brain cells (only a couple, though).

Heh, thanks for the offer. I had the car in again today to replace a leaking coolant hose, just test drove the car again and I'm waiting for it to cool to see where the level is.

Charles, thanks for putting this up.

As for Miatas or S2Ks (or anything that size), I don't fit inside them, pretty much at all if there is a dashboard, so that wouldn't work very well.

Anyone that is willing to allow me a drive (that I can fit in), I would really appreciate it, it sucks to wreck your car 2 days before the season opens...

I've got a VW GTI running in street tire index - stock.
I'm 6'5" and 300 pounds. As long as you're not bigger than that, you should fit okay.

- It's got the DSG auto-shift gearbox, if that matters.

I can fit in a GTI, I am 6' 2", 260.

Are you going to be at M1 & M2? Lemme know what kind of financing I need to bring for the day and then I'll just have to figure out how to get to the track!

I've already offered my car on MNsubaru
Legacy GT wagon in ESP
coil-overs witha good alignment and corner balance that won't favor you at all
sways
good re-01Rs
and more!
I also live in downtown, so if you need a ride.

Only car I've ever comfortably fit in with a helmet if that's an issue.

Wow, I am truly impressed by the response!

I haven't ever driven the STi hard, so I am not even a little bit used to it, this was going to be my first event in it.

Looks like I have a ride to the track and a ride ON the track!!

Erik let me co-drive his GTI last season. I can tell you he's a great co-driver, and the GTI is a lot of fun! The DSG tranny was a LOT better than I was expecting.

I talked to the guy that owns the body shop and he said that he was pretty confident that we were looking at replacing at least one side of the subframe that holds up the motor.

I should have looked at the pictures before I left, you can't really tell from them, but the whole front end is shifted about 3 inches to the passenger side. If you look at the picture with the hood up, you can see that the battery and all the stuff in that corner is smashed into the engine.

ouch! what happened??

JCN

That's actually not as bad as I thought. Matt Deroooooos' damage looked kind of similar (along with things being shifted over) and his was repaired within a few weeks.

Don't let that insurance company **** with you.
New OEM parts for a new car.
Why don't you ahve a rental car anyhow? You should mention how the pain in your ____ makes it hurt to walk everywhere
Make sure you get a comparable car. Enterprise has G35x, Hertz at the airport has ton of good cars. A Chevy Aveo isn't the same :)

If you're not at fault, you ahve a decent amount of leverage here.

After talking with JCN and asujosh1 over PM. I have decided to help a brother out and let him co-drive in my 08 STi. I hope no one turns left in front of us on the track. :p

I hope they fix everything on your STI and its as good as it was before the accident. People need to look where they are going.
