Competing in CSP wont be much fun but a ST event would be very cool!

Yeah it seems to be geared towards the huge number of people who regularly compete in the "T" classes out in Milwaukee (although out there, they are called "F", "A", and "R").

As I see it: All classes except ST* can run (they are already street-tire classes). So...all Stock, SP, P, M can run...as long as they are on 'street tires'...and will be paxed accoringingly. Cars will be fielded in F, R, A(wd)...so essentially it looks like there are three large classes.
ST* cars may run as *SP cars, I suppose...

Yeah, they've had the ST debate already over here:

I think it's a cool event regardless! And it will go over well in Milwaukee given their non-SCCA-ST Street Tire class participation.
Does seem pretty cool. It would be great to see our MAC T-class folks go there and kick ass. Too bad it doesn't look like an SCCA weekend membership will be available.

And they are all in the "T" class! (Sorry I couldn't resist)

So, if the ST guys show up, can we run slicks? is this just "Bizzaro" event?
i'm a little bummed they're ousting the actual ST guys like this...

Hey, at least you're allowed to run it.

Pat and I might be there for the Sunday event anyway (not sure) so I am seriously considering showing up with the DS ITR on street tires. I could easily just pull the Toyos off the Civic and mount them up to some ITR wheels... I'd rather they figure out a way to include the ST classes however without making them run with SP. Too many ST and STU drivers out there would be handicapped by the format.

Why? An ESP index will still be more advantageous to you than stock class cars running street tires, especially since your suspension is actually tuned for street tires.

Hmm......I might have to run the MINI at this event.

hmm... thinking about this... i could just bring the lappy along, and relfash a STG 2 map real quick on site...
Street tire tuned suspension, more boost.... i wonder how serious any of the ESP guys would take this, as they could put alot more than 235/245s on that us STX guys would have around.

Ahh yes, there's that. It's not so much whether you beat other ESP guys (how many are there in the region?) but whether you beat other AWD guys on street tires, like the DS WRXs or AS STi/Evos, or STU(BSP) STi/Evos. (as they're indexing by drivetrain) The DS WRXs may end up on wider tires than the STX or STU cars, but the STX and STU (now ESP and BSP) cars can let the boost run wild if they really want to. (as if any of those guys can't reflash in 10 minutes)

yeah I'd gladly enter my car in DSP, but it's tough when I'd actually need to go PAST home to get there... I'm guessing the wallet will dictate missing this one.

It wasn't poor planning considering the target audience is those that don't go to Nats. It was however are only open date we could use and we have an event the next day for a full weekend of fun.

Try having Nat's or other events before schools open it would be advantageous to all us parents.HEHE

Boy that looks familiar. Is that the National tour course from two years ago? If so I still have some in car footage of that course.

I think that is the NT course from 2 years ago! I did my best to give Steve Jones a run for his money in his DSP BMW at that event. (He beat me, but I like to think I at least kept him honest...) Very fun course. Don't think of those sweepers like you would a pin turn. They are MUCH more open than that.
Wish I could go, but STS runs Thurs-Fri in Lincoln.

Just wanted to put out a big thanks to all that showed up and help make the NSTC a great event. Also wanted to share that Bridgestone Motorsports support showed it's commitment to all levels of competition even the little guys.
We hope that you all had a great time here in Milwaukee for the NSTC (I apologize for our crummy roads) and hope that everyone will be as supportive with a 2nd NSTC event next year (we will be getting a better date that isn't directly after Nationals too).
Here are also some pics from the event

at least my pictures turned out alright. I don't know if I'm always just squinting really hard on course or if my eyes are closed in disgust after I wash through my turn-in point...
