FWIW...
Registration for the 2009 SOLO National Championship is now open.
Last year another driver grabbed my number. Cost me about 50 bucks to make a new set in Topeka and made my car one of the worst looking at the event… Not this year….

Details here…

2009 Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Championship

Steve,

So I used to be a member in 2001, to sign up I need a referring member to get a discount?
What is that "region fee" they are talking?

Also I can register for CS but if at the end of the year I changed to CSP, can I update that?

thanks

Andres

AndresI don't believe the referring member thing gets you a discount - I believe it gets the referring member a discount.

Region Fee is the dues for the local SCCA Region you are associated with. For most regions, the SCCA collects this when you join the National club online.

You can change your event registration until shortly before Nationals. Car class is irrelevant for membership.

actually, it does shave like, 10 bux off the person making the referal... it's a win-win.

So I can pay the region's fee later?

Are they going to use my old member number from 2001?

So who wants to refer me?;)

thanks

Andres

I wouldn't recommend paying the region fee separately. The National office needs to know what region your membership is associated with, and it's cleaner to do everything at once.

Not sure if they will use the same number.

if your reging as a new member... you'll get a new member number and card.

BTW - This year, the SCCA has an option to order a hard plastic membership card for a few extra $. You can even upload a photo.

Totally your choice. Without opening this can of worms too far, the two primary schools of thought are:

A) Join the SCCA Region covering the geographic area where you live. For us, this would be Land 'O Lakes ( 18 ).

B) Join the SCCA Region where you most often participate. For many of us, this is Milwaukee Region (20). For others it's Iowa Region (14) or Des Moines Valley Region (76).

???

I thought as per last year they got rid of the referral discount and made it a "most new members get a t-shirt" crap that they did last year.

Chris are likely going to the CenDiv and very likely going to the MidDiv at LAP. Maybe another LAP event if we can swing it.

I'm hoping to go to both CenDiv and MidDiv, possibly another Milwaukee 2-day if I can afford the hotel.

MidDiv is on my list of things I'd like to do this summer. But CenDiv is during MOWOG 5 so I'll be staying here for that. I may find some other waukee weekend event to go to.

We will be at Milwaukee T&T in 2 weeks, (with a WAI event the next day). Then we'll be at Blytheville, CenDiv, MidDiv, and probably another Milwaukee weekend in there and hopefully another Lincoln event too.

June 6 and 7, WAI #3 and #4, Miller Park, Milwaukee
June 20 and 21, SCCA #3 and #4, Miller Park, Milwaukee
Aug 1 and 2, SCCA CenDiv, Miller Park, Milwaukee
Aug 22 and 23, MidDiv, Lincoln

Would have also done the NRSCCA event July 11 and 12, if they would have finalized the details sooner.

June 20th and 21th looks like an open weekend, and June is a pretty dry month for autox locally so I think I'll try to make it to that one.

There's going to be at least a few of us IA Region guys going to LAP over Memorial Day weekend. Right now I think the tally is at 3 cars/6-7 drivers.

So for sure I'm going to Cen Div and Nationals, working on planning some of the Milwaukee's region .
