DARRYL WROLSEN - Instructor in training :p

Shane Donahue - The MAN - Chief of timing - AND - taking care of getting lunch delivered to us all!!! Thanks Shane!!

If I spelled your name wrong....well that's just too bad for you!! LOL

This is a very impressive lineup! The instructor to student ratio is more than 1 to 1 for each run group, so running around and switching cars will be minimal. While you can ride along with a single student the entire session, I encourage instructors to mix it up a little. Bring your car as we will again be doing an instructor driving ride along demo at lunch time.

Please plan on meeting at Midway on Sunday morning for a short meeting prior ot the start of the school. Maybe 15 minutes before the drivers meeting. You are also welcome to the class sessio on Saturday. We will need some help teching cars, and it's just nice to see some of the instructors there for people to meet.

All others are welcome to come out and meet some new people, help out with corner working tips, just hang out, and generally just being around for support. (Sorry...there may not be enough lunch planned for you.)

Please PM me if you have any questions or if you find you cannot make it. Thanks!!!!!!

Can I get a season tech at the Novice School? My wife is taking it and I was just wondering.

This may be available on Saturday. We are discouraging tech on Sunday as we are trying to maximize the driving time on Sunday.

Darryl,

I made an executive decision and added you to the list (even if Pat doesn't want you! )

Or he defiantly and willfully didn't follow the rules and PM me so I would have his post saved in my in box. Damn BMW drivers

Hey instructors:

I'm sponsoring my Honda service advisor (Steve Peters) and technician (Heath Bakken) to drive the car they helped build. They'll be numbers 9 and 90.

The only problem is that a boosted S2000 is a difficult first car to try autocrossing in... add the fact that we'll probably run on our street tires with less stagger than the Hoosiers... it'll be a handful. :D

My request:
Get them into second gear early and keep it there. I know holding first is faster at Midway in our car, but the throttle response is so vicious that it's probably not a good idea. I'd like to keep the car / alignment in one piece for Valleyfair....

So if you'd be so kind as to keep in mind that this is a one-time sampling for them and not a stepping stone to regular autocross, that'd be much appreciated!

That is standard operating procedure for us.

That is standard operating procedure for us.

I know, but I remember my Novice school experience... after the first few runs we pushed the envelope and used 1st gear longer. Some of the MAC'rs who have ridden along and fun run'd our Honda at MOWOG #9 know that a 1st gear run is faster at Midway if you can control the throttle.

I'm imploring the instructors to stay with S.O.P. :p

I DD and autocross the same model car and it even bit me on the straight before the last turn! I didnt go backwards... but I was sideways for a good bit!

Charles, dont they make earplugs that block loud noises but still allow you to talk? Might be good for a day of instructing with that exhaust also.

Pat, I will plan on being there both days.

Corvette...S2000? What, do you get some free tune ups for this trade?
