Parking Lot Rates for Events?

Happy Saturday All -

Katy Olson and I from the MAHC (Minnesota Austin Healey Club) are hoping to arrange a club sponsored Gymkhana in September (ideally the 26th). As most of you may know, our club sponsors one in the Brown and Bigelow Parking Lot in/around July every year (this year is the 11th). We were hoping to have that lot again for a second event, but it's not going to work out. Phil mentioned Midway gets about $1K per day for a rental. We don't need HUGE space for what we do, but are wondering if there might be any more reasonably priced venues out there? Any advice?

BTW... Our event is a great "Test & Tune" for you competitive/professional types. We do lean towards more "vintage" participants, but it's a fantastic time. If nothing else - come and give us some pointers!

Midway is the least expensive site MAC uses.

The Mercedes club has used Fleming Field, a smallish airport site south of St. Paul that might be pretty reasonable. I'll PM you contact info for the club.

It may be further than you wish to drive, but Fairmont Airport used to be very cheap (like $150 a day) and a fun venue. They haven't hosted an event there for about 7 years, so they may not be too into it, but they were great to work with in the past. The apron actually has a lot of hooks in it and is 70 percent unusable; however, they let us use plenty of runways and they were wide enough and a great course was very possible.

I know that I would be completely up for a Gymkhana event.
I could definitely get some more people interested as well if this will happen.
