I'll be going to the Milwaukee SCCA awards banquet on February 7th, if anyone else is interested in going. If not, I can pick up all the other elitist trophies. Just FYI, Mr. Karp informed me at the end of last season that they intend to spend a more time on SOLO instead of just road racing this time around.

Let me know if you're up for a road trip... it'll be strange making the trip in a "comfortable" car for a change.

Chris, thanks for making the trip this year. Please grab my 2nd place STS trophy for me (*if* it's available this year, it wasn't last year). The truth of the matter is, they didn't spend any appreciable time on road racing, either, last year. The vast majority of the ceremony was recognition of officers and worker awards. Trophies were "out in the lobby" for those who wanted to grab them. There was no recognition of road racers or soloists during the ceremony. YMMV. (It was a good time anyway. Talked to a bunch of the regular Milwaukee crew. Won a door prize. Got to haul a bunch of cool first-place trophies and PAX trophies back for the MAC elitists. It was that speeding ticket on the return that hurt the most. But you live in Wisconsin, so you know to be careful.)

He doesn't have to worry as much. He does not have Minnesota plates on his car.

I was planning on going...I need an injection of elitist-ness. Never actually been to one...they don't recognoze and hand out trophies? Hmmm...well, it's a night out anyway.

Sam said this year would be different, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. Apparently Milwaukee is one of the only remaining regions that doesn't have a separate SOLO banquet.

Yes, you are! Congrats on 3rd place in STS for the Milwaukee Region! Say "Hi!" to Ryan for me, if he's there.

The fact that you keep using the term I coined is just sooooo awesome.Elitist in its own right.
You want to be from Milwaukee so bad you can taste it, just like the beer.

You got it. In fact, when I'm autocrossing in Milwaukee, I find myself saying "It just doesn't get any better than this!" You know, like the Old Milwaukee commercials used to say.

And then you pull your helmet off, shove a piece of cheese in your mouth and down it with a Miller Lite! Great refreshing, Miller Lite!

They are not handing out the trophys at the banquet so you have to email Sam Karp and let him know if you want a chit or trophy and it sounds like he will mail them out to us in minnesota unless you can wait till summer.
