For those of you who were not at the awards party the other night, here's whats up.
Nate and I have, for the last 2 seasons, hosted the last event of the season, M9, at midway, and made it a theme event. This worked well, as most of the points in most of the classes had been totaled, and class winners known, so a chance to get a little silly at the mini-golf lot of autocross was a fun way to end the season.
Well, this year will be a little different. Our last 2 events as scheduled are a double header at Canterbury, with M7 being the last MIDWAY event. Hopefully not to many will object to M7 being the not-quite-end-of-the-year party event this season.
So, the formerly M9 currently M7 last event at Midway theme event theme will be:
Superheros and their cars.
What does this mean to you? You have all season to get ready for this. Got a favorite Superhero? Deck out your ride like his/hers. Does your Superhero not have a ride? Maybe your favorite Superhero is underdog, who was a humble shoe shine boy until called upon, at which time he entered the nearest phone booth and emerged in his suit and cape. You'll have to invent a suitable vehicle for underdog. Got no favorite Superhero? You are free to designate one. Maybe I want to make Neal my Superhero. What might he drive? I'll need to invent the ride. What if I want to have Katie as my Superhero, and she wants me as her Superhero? We would have to clear this all with Neal first, I suspect.... anyway, maybe we just swap cars, dress like each other, and try to act like each other. The options for this mess are endless. We have come as close to Amod rules for this one as we can, as there pretty much are no rules. Just superheros.
Over the season, add updates of your plans, thoughts, and maybe some sneak peaks at cars, costumes, and costumes for cars?
