kind of a bummer that MOWOG 5 conflicts with the Milwaukee CenDiv, oh well I guess I can miss one.
Any idea if MAC will offer season reg again this year?

I'm sure we will. The program was pretty popular last year.

No way we could avoid everything. We did manage to avoid most of the Milwaukee Region events, and there are also two weekend events in Lincoln that don't conflict with anything local (July 11-12, August 22-23). 8)

Thanks for posting, it is nice to get a list of events this early as I try to schedule 24 weeks of summer activities into 12 weeks. :) I only see a couple of conflicts for me, of course Twin Cities marathon is a conflict again, auto-x will lose that one.
I'm really looking forward to the intermidiate driving school. Would the Xtreme school be of any value for someone with one season under their belt?

What's the min. number of events one has to run in order to do annual tech, and do they have to be Mowogs or can any Met-Council event count? There's quite a few Mowogs that I won't make this year and I don't want to suffer per-event-tech in '10 if I can help it.

That was a nice compromise on the Novice schools. Keeping two schools, but having one in Eau Claire sounds like a good alternative.
Great job with the schedule!

Great job on the schedule. You even managed to get our season done early enough for us all to go to the Runoffs Oct 6-9 at Road America!

When will the the sign up open for the Novice School and the Intermediate School? Are they Still one month before the date of the event?
I have one season under my belt, and No novice school. I would like to take one of the schools offered. Should I do both School events? Or would just going to the Intermediate school work?...I have a decent understanding of car control, but i'll be the first to say i don't know everything...Let me know what you think.

Well, it was a nice theory. Unfortunately, we just found out Canterbury is busy until Oct 10-11. So, we're back to ending the second weekend of October.
There's still a chance someone may cancel a September date, so we'll keep the last half of September open, and hope we have the opportunity to change the date later.

Schools typically open 60 days in advance.
I'd recommend starting with the Novice School, and see how it goes from there.

Do we have any more info on the Xtreme Driving School guys? Do they have a website up yet?

Do we need to qualify for a trophy, or just attend 5 events (some of us $lutS have a hard time getting 5 events in one car...)?

I created a shared Google calendar for anyone who wants to add all the dates to their personal computer calendars.
Search google calendars for:
2009 MAC/Met Council Autocross Calendar
And it should pop up.

Is online registration & payment still available this year?
I cant seem to find it on the "MyAutoevents" page for the Novice school.

I created a Google Calendar of these events for those that would like to use it. Without it I have a hard time keeping track of things...
Here is the link in HTML format:

Which ones count for the Met Council series? Last year there was a link off the "rules" page that listed Met Council points. I can't seem to find the link, now. :(
Nevermind, here it is:

You can use "my calendar" at myautoevents for this. They allow you to enter events which are not part of the MAE registration process, too.

Are you expecting the second novice school to fill w/ CVSCC members, or will it be open to others as the date approaches?

Hey there guys. My name is John and I am looking at getting into this sport asap.
I just bought this car, it is a 2000 Volkswagen Golf 1.8T with the K0-4 and its tuned to 24lbs of boost. It also has the suspention ALL done.
It used to be an AutoX car and I want to keep it that way.
I was just wondering, do I have to wait until next year and take the drivers class, or can I just come out to an event and race?
I tried my best at looking into this subject but unfortunatly I could not get a deffinate answer.
Any help would be great.
Thank you.

You can come out and drive now. The point of the class is to help you become a better driver, not to certify you as a driver. I would highly recommend taking that class if you find that you are interested in autox.
You can sign up for the coming events here, and you're going to want to do that now because they fill up fast.

The next event is on Oct 4 at Midway Stadium. You can find the details about it at the myautoevents site (search for mowog 7). It's full now but you could come early and try to get into the event on the waiting list, or just watch to get a feel for the autox day.

A temporary number would be assigned at the event for just that event.

Pick an open number and send Paypal to Phil (the numbers czar.) He is on extended vacation, so the "official" number assignment may not happen right away. For tomorrow's event, I would just pick something unassigned and plan on using it. There is a small chance you will end up with a conflict when you get to the event, since not all participants have a permanent number. Just have some painters tape for backup in case you need to pick a different number.

Ok danke. :D
How are the numbers placed on the car?
Sticker or what?
Magnets, vinyl, or tape.
You might consider moving that block of sig text to your profile so it doesn't show up in every single post.
Yes, you have STi coil packs.
