Looking at the 2009 Tour schedule (on SCCA.com), I noticed a big abscence: No Milwaukee Tour! :(

That's surprising and disappointing. They must really think the attendance is going to fall off now that Nationals is back on concrete.
Do you have a direct link to the Tour schedule?
I had heard somewhere that this was a possibility. With the scca trying to make Divisional chamionships viable again, there were rumors of having a Divisional at Miller Park, instead of the NT.
Looks like ProSolos at Lincoln and Topeka, NTs at Blythville and Peru,... so far.

Hey guys we lost Arrowhead. They are sealing the lots and dont want us any more. So no NT in KC. Infact we dont have a site for a season what so ever and its looking at what we may get isnt enough for a pay off to even go.
Above from Chris Conant in KC... No NT in KC either... So none in the midwest... That sucks...

This is a huge disapointment, I was hoping to attend both Milwaukee and KC Tours this year. Hopefully the schedule isn't complete and they will be adding events shortly. How about a Tour event in Lincoln in conjunction with the Pro Solo?
That really sucks. I was looking forward to doing Milwaukee instead of Nationals.

Too bad, hate to see Milw lose a Tour. Looks like the nearest Tour for me is now a 12 hour tow to Peru.
On the bright side, let's wait and see what sites run Divisionals. Maybe Milw will have one. I remember the not too distant days when several CenDiv events were as big or bigger than the Nat Tours (500+ at Peru in I think '03 or '04). Other than no tires for winning, just as great of an event as any Tour + more runs + cheaper entry fees.
I'm a fan of re-emphasizing the Divisional series. The CenDiv series was one of the longest running, most competitive series in Solo history. Given the competition, the variety of surfaces and who regularly attended those events meant winning that series used to mean something.

Folks,
I wouldn't assume this is the final schedule yet. It's not unusual for events to be added later, as site arrangements are finalized, etc.

Agreed. In the past they haven't even published anything at all until after the new year...
But the Arrowhead issue is confirmed. Unless by some miracle, no KC Tour. :(

Time to try ProSolo... Do you need 2 to qualify for Nationals?

I've got a defective computer. This link only shows me regional events, I don't see any Pro or NT.
What is a Pro Solo event like? Is it good practice for the Solo Nationals?

A big Solo event would be better. Pro Solo events are run entirely differently Also, the courses are somewhat different, with an emphasis on launching the car on cue like a drag race.

I'd like to try it out too. Not sure about how qualifying for the Finale works... hafta read up on it later.

You just have to specify the right search criterion in the drop-down box.
Pro's are VERY fun, but aren't very good practice for Solo Nationals. Drag race launches & short courses.
Unless they change the rules next year, you have to attend two events to qualify for the Finale. If space is available, those without two events who want to attend the Finale are lumped into a single PAXed class to battle it out for some type of consolation prize.

It doesn't do any good but it's not the first time links have taken me to out of date information. Frustrating as @#$%.

2009 MLB schedule hasn't been finalized yet...that might have something to do with something. I'd imagine the Brewers get priority.

Nope, it appears all the national level stuff has been taken down. Worked for me earlier, now it doesn't.

Jeff Cashmore said they want Milwaukee to run a CenDiv event, he posted that on the SCCAforums... Could lose one NT this year with National's being early in September...

I suspect there's going to be plenty of "big" events next season. Divisionals are run just like Tours and are qualifiers for Nationals.
It's all good. No worries.

Usually. The requirements change a bit year-to-year, usually depending on how popular the series is on a given year.
I did more ProSolo from 2000-2003 than I did National Tours. They're more fun and the schedule worked out better in the Southeast at the time. But I also started driving the Scirocco in '03, and while the thing was unstoppable in the rain (won the '04 Atlanta Pro against Evos and WRXs in a 40-degree monsoon), it was absolutely hopeless in the dry. Between moving back to MN and the Scirocco, ProSolos just haven't been on our schedule since then.
The "original" ProSolo format is a drag-race start with proper Christmas tree lights, into two mirror-image courses. Due to site availability problems (need a BIG site!) the format has varied from event-to-event in the past year or two. It may be a single car course, or the "doublecross" format of two cars on opposite ends of a looping course that the Atlanta region pioneered years ago, or the traditional format.
There's also a lot more strategy elements in ProSolo that doesn't exist in normal autocross. But I don't want to give up my advantage of experience to you noobs. (just kidding...I just don't want to type that much!)
