Fun to get back at it.The new weighted Karts are a great equalizer in my mind
All the new racers...my advice ...try and get up for a few practice rounds before the next event if you can.

Tim said that a way to remember the weights you need is to put the number and color of weights on your helmet using stickers, plus it's out there for everyone to see too. I thought that would be very helpful for some of us. ;)

Yep, I had driven the karts before, could keep up with my faster friends, but had never raced in a league and it was an entirely different thing. In my first 3 or 4 events I didn't make the main in 2 or 3 of them, but came around in the end and finished third in the points. Part of it is luck, part of it is consistent driving.

The large circular bruise on the side of my ribs is finally starting to fade. I'm not sure why those seats were designed with a big fastener on the inside of the side bolster. On that note, where can I get a cheap rib protector or one of those fancy blocks of foam?

I have a rib protector that, well, doesn't exactly fit me.... I can try to drag to ProKart some time. I bet you're running Sunday right? Maybe I can find someone to bring it out to you.

My ribs got pretty badly brused at the last event. I still have swelling and am extremely sore. I hope to be ready for the next one, but may have to sit out.

Getting a rib protector for the next event.

Sound like only the skinny guys are having this kind of trouble. (Us fat guys have protection). Are the carts that much faster or are the seats just that bad?
