View Full Version : Pizza Party after M9

10-13-2008, 09:39 AM
The second annual Post Season Pizza Party will commence after the close of Mowog 9.
Location: 1288 E Como Blvd., St. Paul, 55117 (651-489-6955).
It is about a 5 minute drive east of Midway. (Parking is only on one side of the street so it may get a little crowed with the potential for 90 cars and trailers.) If you want a map, I'll have them at the event.
We will have plenty of pizza and beverages--but you may bring along your favorite toppings and/or drinkables if you like. All are welcome.
See you then,
Steve Buetow

Yes, it is just ordinary street parking. You could just find a big enough space where you can pull in forward.
There is a parking lot about a block away that might serve for overload.

Last year's party was fantastic.
Just don't let that French-Canadian guy lead you there. He'll just miss his turn and take you on a tour around the park.

I'm In! I'm sure we can concoct some pretty interesting pizzas from all the choices for toppings. Just don't count on anchovies from me.
Steve

Not too late--you can RSVP when you get here on Sunday. We'll take all. (You just may need to wait a while for pizza).
Don't rely entirely on Google/Mapquest to get you here. They ignore the one ways and "do not enter" signs. They will get you to the area, however.
If you enter E. Como Blvd from the South end of Como Lake near the intersection of Wheelock, Maryland, Victoria, Como Blvd, and Como Lake Drive (yes, there really are 5 streets with different names converging in one spot) you should be fine. Call if your lost. I'll have maps at Midway.

This post has been up for 5 days? I was looking for it during the week - guess I can't see posts any better than I see cones...
I plan to be there this year. I may be a little late since I have to bring the MAC truck back to its home first.

Not gonna happen again this year. I intend to head straight home after the event and grab another car for the party.
Hey, I just realized that I have five vehicles and (furiously knocking on wood as I type this) THEY ALL RUN!

Just wanted to put a big THANK YOU out for having us over, lending your house, and making some killer pizzas.
I can honestly say Ive never had a sauerkraut-goat-cheese-sardine pizza before, and it was pretty good!
Great club we have here, and it was great to chat with everyone throughout the evening. Cant wait til next season.

Steve, thanks 2x. First, you were on the spot to help with course set up at O'dark thirty in the morning, then driving the event, then home to set up and do the Za thing- thanks you and the rest of your kitchen crew, the pies were odd and great at the same time. Half the time I wasn't sure exactally WHAT it was that I was eatting, and it was all good. Thanks again-

Thanks a bunch for putting this on! Was a great time!
Steve, thank you and your family so much for your hospitality and opening your wonderful home to a bunch of rabble and riff raff like us!
It was the perfect cap to a wonderful day! Only 5 minutes away, plenty of street parking; bountiful / delicious food, ample places to sit and bench race.
Thanks again!!!!

Steve,
as everyone else has already said, big thanks for hosting this shindig for a bunch of scruffy, smelly autocrossers at the end of their long day.
the pie was truly delicious, as was the company.
Cheers!

Bet it didn't take 10 hours to remove...

Yup. Heidi and our youngest daughter helped me take it off as soon as I got home. It took the three of us a half an hour. I wanted it off before heading out of town Monday.
Thanks to everyone who took pictures. It's not going to happen again. (Anytime soon anyway.)
